Whilst I was packing for Edinburgh this weekend I realised I always reach for the same beauty items every time – my holy grail products!
Soap & Glory ‘Peaches and Clean’ Deep Cleansing Milk
I have always found it so hard to find a good cleanser that works with my skin whilst actually removing makeup and not just making my face feel really greasy. I’m also just really lazy and I hate how long cleansers would take to actually remove my makeup and make my face feel clean, so I was always a makeup-remover-wipe kinda gal (I know I’m a beauty sinner) until I discovered this. I was in Boots a few months ago, stocking up on some moisturisers, and this was on special. Honestly, this is the best cleanser EVER. It smells so good and it just melts away any makeup so quickly which I love. I also love how it makes my face feel amazing and so soft and refreshed. If you haven’t tried this out, I definitely recommend it – especially if you’re not a cleanser fan like me because this is just so easy to use.
Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub
I’m such a skin-care slacker and I know Simple gets some really mixed reviews, but I just love this scrub. We all hear about how important it is to exfoliate but it’s something I never really bothered with until last year. I was going through a really weird time skin-wise where all my makeup would flake off around my nose but my skin wasn’t overly dry in that area. I decided to give an exfoliating scrub a try to see if it would help my makeup sit better on my face and I was not disappointed! I use this about once a week, sometimes twice if my skin is feeling really bad, but it has made such a difference to the way my skin looks and feels. My face just feels so much softer and brighter than before!
NSPA Soothing Nipple Balm
(don’t worry it’s not for my nipples)! I actually use this as a lip balm every night before I go to bed because it works wonders on my lips overnight and I wake up with the smoothest, prettiest lips ever! I also use this before putting on any matte lipsticks because I just find that it prevents my lips drying out during the day and makes sure my lipstick lasts as long as possible!
Revlon Colorstay 24hrs Foundation (Shade 110//Ivory)
One thing I love playing around with is my foundation. I love to buy and test out new foundations because I really like how different they make skin feel. The one I always come back to (especially now that it has a pump!!!!!) is Revlon Colorstay in the shade Ivory. I love how this sits on my face and how much coverage the tiniest amount gives because I’m not the biggest fan of my naked skin – my cheeks go quite red and I feel like my skin just looks so dull – but with this, I just love the way my skin feels and looks. I feel like this really brightens up my complexion and is also super build-able so I love it for during the day and parties/nights out too. I would honestly say this is the best foundation I’ve ever tried and I can see it staying in my collection for a reaaaaalllly long time.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (Shade 1//Fair)
What holy grail beauty post would be complete without Collection Lasting Perfection concealer!? I honestly can’t remember when I first decided to give this a try, but it’s the only concealer I come back to time and time again. Unfortunately, I can only use shade 1 of this (because pale life) and this is always the only shade that’s out of stock constantly, so when I do see this I usually buy a few at a time. I love how much coverage it gives, it really covers up any darkness under my eyes, but I also use it on any spots or redness as well because this is a really good match for my skin-tone to hide anything that needs to be hid.
Benefit Roller Lash
Unfortunately, this is actually an empty tube and so I’ll need to repurchase this asap, but this is my all time favourite mascara. I love wearing mascara and I love that wide awake look, but I find most mascaras really hit or miss. I have honestly tried SO MANY and I find that they look good on me for the first week or two, where my eyes just look so wide and my eyelashes are so dreamy and long, and then suddenly it just doesn’t sit right with me anymore. Mascaras always start so good for me then make my lashes just look so flat and heavy, but I’m in love with Roller Lash. I’ve used this mascara for about a year now and it just makes my eyelashes look so long and floaty and perfect and I just love wearing it so much!
