Since I love reading other people’s favourites posts I thought I’d make my own. Here are all the things I’ve loved this month!
NYX LIQUID SUEDE IN SOFT SPOKEN
First, is an NYX Liquid Suede lipstick in the shade Soft Spoken. I’ve heard so many amazing things about NYX liquid lipsticks (haven’t we all?) but it has taken me FOREVER to actually find an NYX beauty counter local to me. Thankfully I did and I can 100% confirm the hype is totally worth it. This lipstick is like a dream to apply and the colour is just gorgeous.
I wouldn’t say it’s the most long-lasting, as for me it starts to peel around the 2-hour mark, but the application is so easy it doesn’t really bother me. I think I’ll be ordering lots more of those in a few different shades so I’m sure they’ll be featured in favourites to come!
MAYBELLINE 24K NUDES PALETTE
Next, and linked to my 2017 makeup resolution, is the Maybelline 24karat Nudes eyeshadow palette. I have seen so many mixed reviews for this and the overall opinion of it seems super negative. I’ll start by saying that the pigmentation isn’t the best and the colour payoff isn’t too vibrant either – BUT – this is why I like it.
If you read my earlier post, you’ll know that this year I’m pushing myself to try new makeup looks. A big change for me is wearing eyeshadow, as I have never been an eyeshadow fan at all. This palette has really converted me to an eyeshadow lover which is amazing and I have genuinely reached for it every single day! For the price (£9.99 from Boots*) it is relatively standard for a drugstore palette and so I know a lot of people prefer to pick up a more pigmented palette for the same price, but I love that the colour payoff is a lot more muted as it’s made the transition from no eyeshadow to eyeshadow a lot easier!
I would say if you’re a vibrant eyeshadow fan then this palette is probably not for you but, if like me, you’re new to the eyeshadow game I think this is a really good starting point to get used to the look and feel of wearing shadows more often.

This month I’m loving Tegan & Sara. They came to Glasgow on the 17th and it was the most amazing concert! I have to admit I haven’t listened to them as much since discovering them when I was 15, but since rediscovering them I think I love them even more than before! I 100% recommend giving their newest album a listen but all of their music is just amazing – hopefully, I’ll get the chance to see them again soon.
I haven’t read any new books this month, unfortunately, but I am still loving Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, which I first read last summer and have dipped in and out of ever since – it’s just amazing! I really enjoy YA novels because I think they’re a good mix of serious, fun and romance all in one. If you haven’t read this one yet, I definitely recommend checking it out before the movie comes out in May – so exciting!
Right now I’m LOVING Game of Thrones. My boyfriend and I were really late to the table on this one, but we’re just about to start on Season 6 now – perfect timing as Season 7 is out later this year. Honestly, I never fancied watching GOT at all but once I decided to give the first episode a try I’ve been hooked ever since! If you haven’t seen it yet I definitely recommend giving it a watch.
I dare you not to fall in love with Daenerys Targaryen!
Food-wise, I’m loving Lily O’Brien’s Desserts Collection chocolates! This is quite strange for me as I’m usually a play it safe milk chocolate kinda gal, but after getting these for Valentine’s Day I am OBSESSED. Almost every chocolate has at least some traces of white and dark chocolate, but the flavours just mix so well it’s like heaven in a box. I hadn’t heard of Lily O’Brien chocolates before, but I’ll definitely be checking the rest of their treats out now… Plus who can say no to more chocolate!?
I’m loving ClaireBarclayDraws at the moment, who is an amazing artist local to the Glasgow area. She drew this gorgeous picture of my boyfriend, guinea pig and I for a special Valentine’s event. I love it!
What are you loving at the moment?
